The Magnolia Hotshots gave their best fight against the San Miguel Beermen on Friday night, but they still failed to deliver and ended their championship journey.
The Beermen defeated them with the final score of 108-99 in a double OT match.
As expected, reigning 3-time PBA MVP Jun Mar Fajardo led the team in scoring with 42 points who likewise won the Best Player of the Conference and Finals MVP awards.
The other players who scored in double figures include Arwind Santos with 23 points, Marcio Lassiter added 16 and Chris Ross scored 13 points for the game.
For the Magnolia Hotshots, the leading scorer is Paul Lee with 21 points, Rome Dela Rosa scored 19, Raffy Reavis added 13 points, Marc Barroca with 12 and Ian Sangalang scored 11 points.
They Hotshots had all the chance to seal their victory after leading as much as 23 points, but the San Miguel Beermen denied them and took home the Philippine Cup championship trophy.
They now made a history for winning their 4th straight Philippine Cup title and collected their 24th PBA championship trophy since joining the league in 1975.
