The Charlotte Hornets are already in the brink of elimination at the ongoing NBA season, but the team somehow proved themselves against the struggling Memphis Grizzlies as they won the match on Thursday night.

The Hornets defeated the Grizzlies with the final score of 140-79.

With a huge 61 points lead, they were able to take advantage of the situation because the Memphis played without center Marc Gasol and price point guard Mike Conley.

As expected, the Hornets relied with their key player Kemba Walker who scored a huge 46 points, but think that they fought a short-handed team.

“That’s not something you see every day,” said Walker as quoted by ESPN.com after leading the Hornets to their 32nd victory. “We played well. We knew these guys were short-handed with no Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, who are two awesome players. But we just handled our business,” he added.

The other players for the Hornet who scored in double figures include Marvin Williams and Dwayne Bacon with 15 points apiece, Frank Kaminsky added 14 points, Jeremy Lamb scored 12 and Willy Hernangho finished the game with 10 points.

As for the Grizzlies, the leading scorer is Wayne Selden with 18 points, Tyreke Evans added 16 points and Jarell Martin scored 12 points for the game.
