The Golden State Warriors took advantage of playing with a home court advantage at the Oracle Arena in Oakland and defeated the Los Angeles Lakers with the final score of 117-106.
The Warriors now won their 52nd game and remains on the second spot at the Western Conference division, behind the leader Houston Rockets.
The Golden States Warriors had been missing some key players for the past games due to injuries and against the Lakers, the second lineup of head coach Steve Kerr managed to play well and helping the team seal their victory on Wednesday.
They are still playing without star point guard Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, David West and Draymond Green.
“These games are fun when guys who don’t ordinarily get to play much, when they get a chance and really contribute,” said Kerr as quoted by the news online. “It strengthens the team,” he added.
Kevin Durant led the team in scoring with 26 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block shot.
He received better scoring support from his teammates namely Nick Young (scored 18), Omri Casspi (scored 15), Quinn Cook and Shaun Livingston (scored 13 points apiece), Kevon Looney (scored 11) and Zaza Pachulia (scored 10 points).
For the Lakers, Julius Randle led the team with 22, Brook Lopez and Isaiah Thomas scored20 points apiece; Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 13 and Tyler Ennis with 12 points.
They miss the service of Kyle Kuzma who is suffering from a right ankle sprain.
