Dominic Thiem vs. Evgeny Donskoy
In the ongoing Qatar Open tennis tournament held in Doha, Dominic Thiem beat Evgeny Donskoy with the final score of 7-6 (3) and 6-3 for its 1sr-round victory on Monday.
The top-seeded tennis player from Austria managed to secure 2-set points in the opening set, which makes it easier for him to have an advantage against his Russian opponent.
The world’s 5th-ranked tennis player from Austria defeated the 27-year-old netter from Russia to open its campaign this 2018 with a victory. Thiem became a top seed before, yet move down to the 5th spot and now climbing back to prove is decent performance last Monday against Donskoy.
“It was a good victory because [of a] tough opponent… after a pretty long period without any matches,” said the young Austrian as quoted through atpworldtour.com. “After a good start, it got pretty close in the first set… at the end I’m satisfied with most parts of my game.”
He is waiting for the result between the matchup of Malek Jaziri and Aljaz Bedene to determine his next opponent.
