The New York Rangers managed to keep their composure until the final buzzer and defeated the Anaheim Ducks with the final score of 4-1 at the ongoing National Hockey League (NHL) tournament held at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
The Rangers beat the Ducks last Tuesday and credit to Henrik Lundqvist.
From the latest sport news published through Associated Press (AP), the New York Rangers defeated the Anaheim Ducks via 4-1 on Tuesday and the team depended on their reliable goalie player Henrik Lundqvist.
He managed to complete the 39 shots stoppage for the game.
Aside from Henrik, the Rangers got better performance from Paul Carey who managed to score two goals and
helping the team seal their victory last Tuesday evening. The other players who scored individual goal for the team include Kevin Hayes and Michael Grabner. They now won three consecutive games and improving their record to 19-12-3.
For the 35-year-old Swedish goalie Lundqvist, he now achieved his 422nd win in his career as a professional hockey player.
“I think the way I take care of myself right now as I am getting older — the way I eat, the way I sleep, the way I prepare — I try to do everything I can to stay on top of my game,” said Lundqvist as quoted by the news. “I feel like the team is playing really well and that’s helpful. I can focus on the shooter a lot. It’s a big thing for me to commit to the shooter a lot more, feeling that support from the guys around me,” he added.
As for the Anaheim Ducks, the only player who scored is Ondrej Kase.
Based on the information about their upcoming games, the Rangers will face the New Jersey Devils on Thursday (December 21) evening. The Ducks on the other hand visits the New York Islanders on the same date.
