In a remarkable display of performance against the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, the Petron Blaze Spikers managed to win game 1 on the ongoing Chooks to Go-Philippines Superliga Grand Prix Finals held at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan, Manila.
They were able to win game one last Tuesday and be preparing for game two.
As expected, the Petron women’s volleyball team relied on the impressive performances of their foreign spikers who outperformed their rivals to seal their victory. The final score for the game is 25-14, 25-21 and 25-16 and only needs to win one game to conquer the championship.
Import Lindsay Stalzer and Hillary Hurley demolished the Cargo Mover with their powerful spikes by scoring 20 points each and made 31 kills, which leave the F2 Logistics defenseless.
“For sure they will come back,” said the veteran Delos Santos who is the current head coach of Petron as quoted by the news online. “We want to see how F2 will play in Game 2.”
The veteran coach likewise pointed out that his team played better against their rivals and their preparation paid off in their game 1 victory.
As for Ramil de Jesus, he said that the Cargo Movers did not pass their test in the opening games in their best-of-3 finals. He said that they would need to play 100% in the next game to win against the Blaze Spikers.
De Jesus is the current head coach of the F2 Logistics.
Venezuelan import Maria Jose Perez came out the leading scorer of the Cargo Movers with 15 points, but she did not get the exact scoring support from her teammates. The team likewise did not get much scoring with the other players like Kennedy Bryan.
