Meralco Bolts vs. Barangay Ginebra Kings

The Meralco Bolts displayed another impressive performance against the Barangay Ginebra Kings on Friday and defeated them with a final score of 85-53 inside the crowded Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
With the victory of the Bolts, they now tied the series 2-2 for the ongoing 2017 PBA Governor’s Cup Finals.
As expected, import Allen Durham played a dominant game by leading the Meralco on Friday. He scored 28 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, provided 2 assists, with 2 block shots and a pair of steal as well. Even the big men of the Gin Kings failed to control him inside the shaded area.
“As always, it’s beautiful if it works. Our execution down the stretch was pretty good today, except for that last layup of JD (Dillinger). But everything went pretty smoothly,” Bolts head coach Norman Black stated after the game-winning and explained about connection of his veteran forward and PBA two-time Best Import, Allen Durham.
“The guys really focused in this time on what we did in the huddle as far as instructions were concerned, unlike in Game 2. And we made some big shots and some big plays down the stretch,” he continued during the end game interview.
The other players who scored well for the Bolts include Fil-Am rookie Chris Newsome with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while veteran Reynel Hugnatan added 14 points on his own.
As for the Gin Kings, their import Justin Brownlee led the team in scoring with 34 points and the online local player who scored in double figure is Joe Devance with 15 points. They did not get the usual scoring of their reliable locals such as L.A. Tenorio who is scoreless, while Japeth Aguilar only has 7 points and center Greg Slaughter with 6 points only.
The crucial game 5 will be on Sunday and this will be a deciding factor.
