Gilas Pilipinas vs. India
In the ongoing 2017 William Jones Cup basketball tournament in Taipei, the Gilas Pilipinas defeated India on Saturday with the final score of 101-70.
With the win, the Gilas are now 5-3 in the overall team standing.
The Gilas team made at least 17 3-point shots and this gave way to their comfortable lead and took control of the game until the final buzzer of the 4th quarter.
The leading scorer for the team is Mathew Wright with 19 points and made all his 3-point shots from the arc with 5-5 percentage. While Almong Vosotros scored 14 points and Filipino-German player Christian Standhardinger added 10 points for the game.
On the other hand, they still need to win their remaining games to make it to the next round because they are in the 4th spot at the current standing.
It will be a tough game for the Gilas on this coming Sunday because they need to beat Iran for their last outing in the tournament at the Taipei Heping Gymnasium.
