The Golden State Warriors took advantage of their home court and defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers with the final score of 113-91. The Warriors now has a 1-0 lead at the 2017 NBA Finals.

This is actually the 3rd straight meeting of both teams in the NBA Finals.

For the Golden State Warriors, forward Kevin Durant led the team in scoring with 38 points, grabbed 8 boards and with 8 assists for the game. Durant is enjoying its first season with the Warriors after leaving the Oklahoma City Thunders last year.

Aside from him, Stephen Curry scored 28 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, with 10 assists and 3 steals, Draymond Green added 9 points, Zaza Pachula scored 8 points and Klay Thompson added 6 points for the game.

For the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James scored 28 points with 15 rebounds and 8 assists, Kyrie Irving with 24 points, Kevin Love with 15 points and Richard Jefferson added 9 points.

James believed that the inclusion of Durant to the Warriors as a big different compared to their matchup last year.

The Warriors took control of the entire game and did not allow the Cavaliers to comeback. This is the exact reason on why they now have a 1-0 lead in their best-of-7 NBA Finals championship this season. Like what Durant told the reporters, they will always take “W” when it is ready for them by playing smarter and execute their game plans.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is not yet available for the team and hoping to return in their next game at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.
