The Air Force women’s volleyball team defeated the Pocari Sweat in 5 sets at the ongoing Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan. They did not give the defending champion an opportunity to steal their victory.

The final score is 25-19, 24-26, 25-27, 25-21 and 15-6 in favor of the Air Force.

With the win of the Jet Spikers, they were able to prevent the Pocari Sweat from grabbing an outright spot in the semifinals matchup. Patcharee Saengmuang (Thailand import) led the team in scoring with 27 points, Jocemar Tapic and Iari Yongco scored 23 points apiece and Joy Cases added 21 points for the game.

The Air Force now has an opportunity to improve themselves in preparation for the quarterfinals round on Sunday.

As for the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors, they need to win their next game if they want to move into the semifinals and joining the BaliPure Water Defenders. They now have the same 5-4 record with the Perlas Spikers and Power Smashers, while the Water Defenders are in solo 6-4 record.

The Lady Warriors missed the services of Myla Pablo with back injury and import from Bosnia Edina Selimovic due to hamstring tear.
