Star Hotshots vs. Meralco Bolts
The Star Hotshots continue to shine at the current PBA Commissioner’s Cup by defeating the Meralco Bolts with the final score of 108-90 on Wednesday. With their win, they now have a comfortable 8-2 record and acquired the first spot in the team standing.
As expected, import Ricardo Ratliffe led the hotshots in scoring with 32 points and 13 rebounds for the game.
The Star managed to control the Bolts in the 4th quarter and made them scoreless for almost 7 minutes inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
During the 3rd quarter of the game, the Hotshots are keeping the momentum with an 81-75 lead heading to the final quarter of the game. They also led as many as 18 points in the 4th quarter before sealing their victory.
Other key players from the Star who scored in double figures include point guard Paul Lee scoring 16 points, Mark Barroca added 12 points, Gilas Pilipinas members Allein Maliksi scored 11 points and rookie point guard Jio Jalalon added 10 points.
As for the Bolts, their important Alex Stephenson only managed to score 9 points for the game and fouled out in the final period. 2017 Rookie of the Year Chris Newsome led the Meralco in scoring with 25 points.
They remain on the 4th spot of the team standing 7-3, tied with the TNT KaTropa.
