The BaliPure Water Defenders achieved an outright spot in the semifinals of the ongoing Premier Volleyball League at the FilOil Flying V Centre. They defeated the Cool Smashers on Tuesday evening in the 5th set of their match up.

The Water Defenders moves into the semifinals automatically.

The matchups of the current Premier Volleyball League in the Philippine is becoming tighter. Just like the latest matchup between the BaliPure and Creamline, they needed 5 sets to decide the winner.

The Water Defenders however successfully beat the Cool Smashers 20-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-18 and 15-7 to clinch into the semifinals with an outright spot.

As expected, both imports Jennifer Keddy and Jeng Baulee carried the team to seal their victory for the BaliPure. Keddy scored 18 points with 14 attacks, while Bualee added 15 points for the game. Of course, Fil-Japanese Rissa Sato scored 16 points on her own for a solid performance against the Cool Smashers.

Keddy is an import from the United States, while Bualee is from Thailand.

With the win, the Water Defenders improved their record to 7-2 and most importantly they move into the next round easily.

As for the Cool Smashers, the leading scorer is Kuttika Kaewpin with 26 points, Laura Schaudt scored 16 points, Jema Galanza 12 points and Pau Soriano with 11 points. Alyssa Valdez is a missing link for the team who only scored 2 points.

Creamline dropped their record to 3-6 and their last game is against the Perlas Strikers on Thursday.
