The Golden State Warriors completed a sweep against the San Antonio Spurs for the Western Conference Finals. The Warriors beat the Spurs with the final score of 129-115 to close the series at 4-0 and reaching the 2017 NBA Finals once again.
Despite the home court advantage of the San Antonio, they failed to matchup the efforts of the Golden State and allowing them to advance into the Finals. Unfortunately, the Spurs again played with a depleted lineup without point guard Tony Parker and forward Kawhi Leonard.
Both players are important in the offensive game of the Spurs.
For the Warriors, Stephen Curry led the team with 36 points, Kevin Durant added 29 points, Draymond Green scored 16 points and Klay Thompson scored 10 points for the game. They will now wait for the winner between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics for the NBA Finals this season.
Curry believes that winning 12-0 is a great achievement, but they still need to win the finals. For Durant, he said that it is nice to see their team in the last 2 teams and they will just need to see on how to win the championship.
In line with this matchup, there are news reports that Zaza Pachulia is receiving “death threats” after the incident against Leonard, which sidelined the latter one. Leonard obtained a sprained left ankle injury after a collision with Pachulia in game one of there Western Conference Finals.
If the Spurs played with a healthy lineup against the Warriors, it might have been a close series.
