Boston Celtics vs. Washington Wizards
As expected, Boston Celtics star point guard Isaiah Thomas led his team to another victory against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday with the final score of 129-119 via overtime. With the win, Celtics now has a 2-0 advantage in their Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup.
Thomas played a tremendous game by scoring 53 big points, despite playing an emotional game because of celebrating the birthday of her sister Chyna, who passed away few weeks ago. He is also playing with body pain after the tiring game 1 against the Wizards, wherein he lost a tooth and needed to visit the dentist to fix the problem.
Aside from Thomas, other Celtics players who scored in double figure include Al Horford with 15 points, Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley with 14 points apiece, while Terry Rozier added 12 points for the game. The team showed a balance scoring and good defense to help them seal their victory.
As for the Wizards, John Wall led the team in scoring with 40 points, 3 rebounds and 13 assists. At least seven Wizards players scored in double figure, but not enough to match the intensity of the Celtics until the end of the OT regulation. Likewise, Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat did not play in overtime due to fouling out with 6 fouls apiece.
The Wizards is now down 2-0 and they need to win game 3 on Thursday if they want to stay alive. They will have a home court advantage playing at the Verizon Center in Washington.
