The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Denver Nuggets in a thrilling finish after Russell Westbrook made a 36-foot three point shot to beat the buzzer on Sunday. Aside from winning the game, Westbrook likewise made a new NBA record after reaching his 42nd triple double performance.
With his achievement, he successfully broke the record of Oscar Robertson who had 41 triple-double back in the 1961-62 NBA season.
The Thunder beat the Nuggets with the final score of 106-105 and eliminated their opponent in their chances to reach the playoff. Westbrook completed his remarkable performance with 50 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and with 10 assists for the game.
During his interview with the press, the star point guard of the Thunder said that he feel very blessed and thanking God for his accomplishment. He also thanked his teammates, coaching staff, the fans and the entire organization for giving him such opportunity and believing in his talent.
After making the 36-foot shot, the crowd inside the Pepsi Center started to yell and gave Westbrook a standing ovation for this impressive performance. With the win, the Oklahoma City Thunder now has a record of 46-34.
