In one of the most dominant games of the US baseball team, they beat the Puerto Rico via 8-0 win and captured the World Baseball Classic title on Wednesday. American Pitcher Marcus Stroman showed his remarkable skills in the field by tossing 6 hitless innings to help the team win convincingly.

Along with Stroman, Ian Kinsler and Jonathan Lucroy also played impressively.

The Puerto Rican team lost for the first time after completing their 8 games. Despite their lost against the American, they still brought home the runner up title this year. In 2013, they also finished 2nd runner up against the Dominican Republic that time.

The tournament chose Marcus Stroman as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) because of leading the US team in highest scoring output.

The American finished a 6-2 record in this baseball tournament and gave the spectators their remarkable performance at the Dodger Stadium. Based on the audience record, almost 51,565 people went to the venue to witness the game. They gave the team a standing ovation particularly when the MVP pitcher went out of the field with a commanding 7-0 lead in the seventh.

The 8-0 lead came with the RBI single with 2 outs from Andrew McCutchen in the 8th inning.

Before reaching the final of the WBC, the US team needed to beat the Japanese twice. As for the Puerto Ricans, they needed to defeat the Netherlands.
