Demetrius Andrade vs. Jack Culcay

Jack Culcay suffered a defeat against his challenger Demetrius Andrade on Saturday via split decision. Culcay went to the fight as the WBA World Junior Middleweight Champion, but Andrade showed enough power inside the ring to win the title.
Despite the home-crowd advantage of Culcay inside the Friedrich-Ebert Halle in Ludwigshafen, Germany, he failed the level the intensity of his 6-foot-1 opponent. Demetrius was able to utilize his height advantage and threw more punches until the final 12th round of the bout.
Although the former champion managed to win some rounds, Andrade still controlled their fight from the 6th round up to the 12th round. There are situations wherein he felt the speed of Culcay inside the right, but he successfully countered the strategy of his opponent until the final bell.
For some boxing experts, it seems that the new champion did not hurt his tough opponent and won because of his many thrown punches. Nevertheless, Demetrius came prepared for the fight and showed that he deserved to win the championship.
