Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings vs. Star Hotshots
|Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings||93|
Despite the resistance of the Star Hotshots, the Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings managed to even the series 2-2 after a convincing 93-86 win on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The Hotshots took the 2-0 advantage at their semifinal matchup, but the Gin Kings regained their championship composure and now tied the series. Ginebra head coach Tim Cone believes that they were able to setup their plays and adjust to the tough defense of their opponent. Although there are some unwanted calls from the referees, the game ended well until the final buzzer of the 4th quarter.
During the interview, Cone stated that he would still need to watch the video again to figure out on how they managed to seal the victory. However, he knew that his team is controlling the game. Besides Japeth Aguilar (18 points) and LA Tenorio (8 points), Jervy Cruz (21 points), Mark Caguiao (5 points) and Chris Ellis (10 points) played well for the Gin Kings.
Game 5 is set on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City and this is a crucial game for both teams to get the 3-2 advantage and move closer to the PBA finals.
As for the Hotshots, Paul Lee failed to play his usual game because of the tight defense against him, particularly when Sol Mercado is guarding him. Likewise, their head coach Chito Victolero is taking the blame for the loss of his team.
