In a very intense game one semifinals matchup between the Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings and Star Hotshots, Paul Lee came up big in the closing seconds on the final quarter to give the Hotshots a 1-0 advantage against the Kings.

The Star defeated the Ginebra with the final score of 78-74 inside the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

Both teams played a tough game from the start of the 1st quarter, although the Gin Kings led for as much as 12 points. In the 3rd period, the Hotshots made crucial adjustments and manage to overcome the lead going to the final quarter. It was really a close game because the crucial baskets of Lee helped his team sealed the victory.

He made a crucial 3-point shot and an impressive drive to the basket shot against his defenders. With this 5-point addition to the Star’s scoreboard, the team did able to control the game until the final buzzer.

Paul Lee finished the game with 18 points and his teammate came out to support him.

As for the Gin Kings, some of the key players did not play their usual games and even missed the service of Joe Devance who is still recovering from his injury. Japeth Aguilar likewise is a missing link for the team who only managed to score 11 points and got crucial blocks in the dying seconds of the game.

Ginebra had a chance to tie the score but the unforeseen turnovers made them suffer.
