Young Lakers Put On A Show, Embarrassing “Mighty” Warriors 117-97
Them young bloods! The young Los Angeles Lakers know how to put on a show, as they embarrassed the mighty Golden State Warriors 117-97. At a sold-out Staples Center in Los Angeles, Luke Walton’s young “padawans” displayed amazing highlight reel to the delight of thousands of Lakers fans.
Lakers forward Julius Randle led the team with 20 points and 14 rebounds, as well as an impressive blocks against Draymond Green. Likewise, Lou Williams and D’Angelo Russell scored 20 points and 17 points respectively. Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson also put a valiant effort for the Lakers. The current Lakers roster doesn’t have any superstar, and also it’s Luke Walton’s first year as their head coach.
But the young Lakers are all fired up. They beat the “superteam” Golden State Warriors (fresh from their blowout victory against the Thunder) as if it’s a glimpse of the years to come. The Lakers’ defense came into play, and it was effective, limiting reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry. Curry made zero out of 10 from the three-point territory. It ended his personal streak of 157 straight games with at least a three-pointer scored.
The Lakers have a current standing of three wins and three losses, while the Warriors have four wins, and they just got their second defeat.
