Despite Slow Start, Hornets Defeat Sixers 109-93
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the visiting Philadelphia 76ers 109-93, despite a slow start. It was also their first win at home. Although it is expected that the Hornets would make it to the playoffs, and the win-less Sixers would not, the Hornets seemed to struggle.
Kemba Walker led the Hornets with 22 points. Batum, who struggled in the first half scoring only 3 points, made a comeback in the third quarter and outscored the Sixers 39-20. The Sixers committed eight turnovers in the third quarter alone, which did not help them.
Jahlil Okafor had a “minutes restriction” because of a knee soreness. He played only 23 minutes, scoring 12 points. The Hornets improved to a 3-1 win/loss standing, while the Sixers are still winless 0-4. The Hornets will play against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday while the Sixers will try to get their first win when they face the defending champion, the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
